My Lands: Black Gem Hunting (My Lands in short) is a free-to-play browser-based strategy MMO, the first online game that allows players to earn and withdraw money during play. It offers the economy-military real-time strategy mainstays such as city-building, resource management, researching, trading, troop training and forming alliances, etc.. It offers the free-to-play option for players to get access to full contents except the real money-related features, e.g. farming, mining and withdrawing Black Gems (in-game premium currency) as real cash. So players can play it the same way they do in other strategy games or choose to subscribe so that to earn some money in the game.

There isn’t any character customization – your city name represents what you are. You just choose one of four races, Dark Elves, Demons, Knights or Elves. Such a choice has great impact on the following gameplay: it decides the environment/graphics of your city, bonuses in resource types and production speed, special army units and relations with other races. Take Elves for instance. They live the bright magic woods with waterfalls meandering through, enjoy the fastest wood production and have the best elf healers. You can get a glimpse of the corresponding building style for each and choose the one that suits your playstyle. You can also choose between two servers, military or miner, each also giving certain bonuses.
